Create strong bonds on plastic body panels, ground effects and spoilers with the Lord Fusor Plastic Bonding Adhesive (Slow) - 127EZ. This slow bonding adhesive works on binding several substrates - Metton, carbon fiber, SMC, fiberglass, and other plastics to itself and primed metal. This high-strength urethane structural adhesive works well for cab extenders, wood, glass, and other surfaces.
How to use the Lord Fusor Plastic Bonding Adhesive (Slow):
- Surface Preparation: Prime bare metal using a two-component epoxy primer. Let the primer dry completely and sand with 180 and 220 grit sandpaper. If it's a plastic surface, clean the area and sand the bonded areas with 80-grit sandpaper.
- Preparing the Product: Insert the two-component adhesive cartridge into the dispensing gun. Squeeze a small amount of adhesive from both sides of the cartridge to level the plungers and take care that the adhesive comes out from both sides. Fix a mixing tip and take out a small amount of material to check if the adhesive is properly mixed.
- Application: Apply a bead large enough (1/2" size) to fill gaps between the panel and the inner reinforcement. Use pressure to clamp panels and hold them in place while squeezing out a small amount of adhesive. Let the adhesive stand and completely cure. Cool to room temperature before unclamping. Prime and paint as per manufacturer recommendations.
