Your projects get an amazing finish when you use the Finish 1 2.1 VOC Clearcoat, the high solids urethane clearcoat that is designed for air dry and force dry environments. This clearcoat meets stringent VOC regulations at 2.1 VOC and provides excellent gloss, DOI, leveling, blending, and buffing characteristics.
Substrates:
FC740 can be applied over Basecoats or 2.8 / 3.5 VOC Single-Stage Enamels.
Why is clearcoat necessary?
A good quality clearcoat is vital to give your car the much-sought-after glossy look. Apart from looks, a clearcoat provides necessary ultraviolet protection to your car. Paint specialists believe that the sun's ultraviolet are the prime cause of fading car paint. A clearcoat also lets you buff out shallow surface defects without harm to the paint. With clearcoat, repair and maintenance work becomes much easier.
How to apply clearcoat?
ring the clearcoat out after the color paint is down. Apply two coats, and allow each coat to flash to hand-slick between coats. You can also opt for wet-on-wet 'limited flash' application by allowing 2-5 minute flash between coats. You will have to adjust the air pressure to HVLP 8 -10 psi and Conventional 50-60 psi.
