Produce an infallible build or fill imperfections in the course of repair activity with the Finish 1 2K HS Urethane Primer. This primer is a top-quality, two-component coat that is known to provide wonderful adhesion to surfaces and gives them a boost of shine. You can sand it effortlessly when you are preparing the surface and its particles will not clog the sandpaper.
Withstanding sand scratch swelling, the primer stays durable on the surface. The substrates it works on are OEM finishes, treated aluminum, fiberglass, etching primers, refinish lacquers, enamels, urethanes, suitably treated steel (metal etch or etching primer).
How to use 2K HS Primer
You need to add four parts of this primer with one part hardener and mix well (FH411). To apply with spray gun, you need to first adjust the air pressure depending on the type of gun you have chosen for the job. Apply 2 or 3 medium coats at a gun distance of 5 to 7 inches.
Leave a gap or flash time of 5 to 10 minutes between coats. Post sanding, the dry film can have a thickness of 2.0 – 2.5 mils but definitely not more than 6 mils. Do not leave the gun with the residue and use a suitable cleaner to rinse out buildup that may be tough to remove after it dries.
How long does the primer take to completely dry?
When you are air drying, leave the primer for 1.5 to 3 hours at a temperature of 70ºF. If you want it to dry sooner and you intend to use the force dry method at 140ºF, then it will take 30 minutes. You can also use short wave infrared for 15 minutes on high setting at a distance of 24 inches.
Sand the surface only after about two hours if you have left the primer to air dry. When using force dry or short wave infrared methods, you need to wait till the surface cools down.
The Finish 1 2K HS Urethane Primer is your go-to undercoat when you are looking for excellent gloss, color holdout and bond.
