How to use the 3M Fast 'n Firm Seam Sealer
- Use it over paint or primer when you want to apply it to metal, since direct application on bare metal may not protect against corrosion.
- Clean and dry surface with an efficient adhesive cleaner. Wait for the primer to completely cure before you use an adhesive cleaner.
- Cut nozzle tip so that you get 1/4" diameter bead. Remove seal at the base of the tube.
- Place the tube inside a calking gun and engage ratcheting mechanism.
- Apply bead width as desired and tool to get the desired appearance if you find necessary. After the sealing is complete, unfasten ratchet to stop the flow.
- Wait for the sealer to dry before you apply paint on it. Thicker beads take a longer time to cure.
