Paintable When Dry
The 3M Brushable Seam Sealer Gray is a specially developed product that can be used for sealing floor pans, firewalls, trunk seams, shock absorber mounting towers around wheel wells, fuel filler splash pans and around headlight and taillight openings. It seals sheet metal overlap joints that have been spot welded, riveted or bolted together.
This sealer dries quickly without sag or flow, to restore factory appearance, and can be painted when dry. It adheres to primed or painted surfaces and remains flexible while resisting oil, fuel, and other automotive fluids. It applies easily with a brush.
The 3M Brushable Seam Sealer Gray holds brush marks well. It can be used even in engine compartments since it is oil and fuel resistant. To use this product on various automobile seams, lightly scuff the area to be sealed. Then, clean it with soap and water. After the surface dries, clean it with a 3M VOC compliant product.
Use a brush to seam the sealer onto the prepared surface. Since this is a quick drying sealer, the time taken is minimal. Tool or brush to the desired appearance. After it dries, apply paint over the sealer. Thicker seam beads will take longer to cure before painting. This seam sealer takes less time and effort, and costs less money too, making it a value-added investment in your garage.
